TikTok has spawned a number of unusual viral trends over the years, but none quite as strange as the current trend populating the social network: the slushy trend.
The trend involves the owners of so-called Bubba Trucks pulling up to a convenience store, buying a large slushy, and then throwing that slushy at their vehicle. Yes, you read that correctly. The whole trend is flinging a full slushy at your vehicle.
A “Bubba Truck” is a truck that has oversized tires installed on a leveled or semi-lifted pickup truck that still also uses the vehicle’s stock wheels, or one that has an exceptionally loud exhaust.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the videos are being posted mostly by teenagers, often to the song “Bag Season” by Jay Lewis, featuring Da Real Gee Money.
The trend appears to be a new way for the truck owners to show off their vehicles on TikTok, with many of the slushy throws followed by a video of other parts of the truck itself.
The actual tossing of the slushy doesn’t really serve much of a purpose beyond catching your attention, although several users have pointed out it might also be a way to prove your truck isn’t a “pavement princess” (aka a truck that stays on roads and isn’t used for off-roading or mudding).
