Attack alleged to have happened in a park after 33-year-old suspect dragged victim into bushes
A Channel migrant is alleged to have raped a woman 40 days after arriving in the UK, it has been reported.
The 33 year old has been charged with raping the woman in a park after allegedly reaching the UK in a small boat across the Channel, according to The Sun newspaper.
He is said to have dragged the alleged victim, whom he did not know, into bushes to attack her. The alleged rape is said to have taken place in Skegness.
Appearing via video link at Lincoln magistrates’ court he spoke via an interpreter to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
The suspect was denied bail in a hearing at Lincoln magistrates’ court this month — and is awaiting his first crown court appearance.
The Government and prosecutors were said to be trying to find out if he held any convictions before entering the UK.
